IZECREMA

IZECREMA aims to reduce emissions, costs, and energy insecurities for ice cream retailers

About the project

IZECREMA aims to reduce emissions, costs, and energy insecurities for ice cream retailers by developing innovative solutions which reliably power freezer cabinets using locally installed solar photovoltaics, renewable electricity from the grid, and smart battery technologies.

IZECREMA

IZECREMA will design, realise, and test, smart solar+storage prototypes with innovative control systems which can be deployed to decarbonise Unilever’s global fleet of customer-facing ice cream retailing freezer cabinets.

As the world’s largest ice cream producer, Unilever supplies branded freezer cabinets to retailers which promote sales and ensure product quality.

IZECREMA solutions will improve Unilever’s offering to retailers by minimising energy costs associated with operating freezers, thereby stimulating business growth.

The project will connect the world’s largest ice cream producer (Unilever) with dpSun and a Northern Irish electrical battery system manufacturer (Zhyphen).
